Principal Message

Silda Chandra Sekhar College (Estd. 9 November 1971) is situated in Jhargram district of West Bengal. The college has more than one thousand students with its soothing pastoral setting and campus is full of greenery. The college started its journey with a few general subjects in the field of humanities. From then onwards there has been a steady growth in academic pursuits with the introduction of several honours subjects. The college is affiliated to Vidyasagar University and recognised by the University Grants Commission under section 2 (f) and 2 (B).

Aims and Objectives of
the College

Most of the students coming to this College are from families with low socio-economic background. Many of the students are even first generation learners and it is a real challenge to impart quality education to them. We are confident that together we will fulfil the dreams that the donors of this college once dreamt of. The aim of the college is to impart education with skills and perspectives needed for understanding and participating responsibly and creatively in life beyond the college. Our aim is to offer all the students a range of opportunities so that they can achieve to the best of their ability within a framework of shared values and standards.

Mission

We would like to impart educational opportunities with facilities to students belonging to different strata of society irrespective of caste, gender, or creed. Necessary steps have always been taken to uplift the deprived and academically weak students through the development of social, moral, aesthetic and ethical values amongst our students.
